COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This week-long program consists of intensive classroom instruction on
basic human anatomy, physiology and pathology, with primary emphasis
on the endoskeletal system. Covered as well are the biomechanical
principles and correct application techniques of prefabricated spinal
and extremity orthotics.
Also included are extensive presentations on venous insufficiency,
compression therapy, post-mastectomy products, and matters related to
facilities management and effective marketing and promotion of the
fitting service.
All this is complemented by multiple hands-on fitting workshop
sessions.
Course hours run from approximately 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM each day, with
some independent study required in the evenings.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
A certificate of achievement is awarded to participants who meet the
requirements for successful completion, as follows:
• Attendance at all sessions
• Completion of the required number of hands-on fittings
• Successful completion of the in-class, closed book written
examination |
